Glenn Holland, Jr.

January 15, 1938 — September 9, 2017

Glenn M. Holland Jr. of , Walkersville, MD , passed from this life, surrounded by his family on September 9, 2017.

Born on January 15, 1938 , in  Frederick, MD.  He was the  son of  Glenn M. Holland, Sr. and  Ethel M. Holland (nee Grimes) .

Glenn was a graduate of Walkersville High School in 1956.

He was honorably discharged from the National Guard of Maryland and as a Reserve of the Army of the United States in 1959.

He retired from HF Payne Construction in 1998.

He was a passionate stock car racing fan and enjoyed wood working.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margie Holland; his children, Darlene Blank, Glenn L. Holland and his wife Annette, Margie L. Shertenlieb and her husband Ben.
Grandfather of  Diana, Nicole, Chrissy, Amanda, Chelsea, Emily, Glenn, Todd, Kevin and Shelby. Brother of Mida Gilbert and Mary Jane Scarberry; sister in law, Lena Crown and life long friends, Dick Fogle and Ronnie Boone. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and 1 on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Holland; mother in law, "Boots" Crown  and father in law, Donald Crown.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue in Walkersville, MD.

A celebration of Glenn's life journey will follow at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Stauffer Funeral Home.  Pastor Jeff Shaw will officiate.
Interment will be at  Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in his name to Frederick County Hospice or Mountainview Ministries, 103 Apples Church Road Thurmont, MD 21788.
