Mr. Glenn Elwood Crone of Frederick died Saturday, August 24,2013.
He was the husband of Clara Delauter Crone, his wife of 64 years.
Born August 21, 1927 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Cecil Earl Crone and
Martha Main Crone.
He was previously employed at Fort Detrick for over 30 years and with Safeway Stores,
Inc. for 28 years.He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.
Mr. Crone was a member of the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren. He served on the
Board of Directors of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association, he was a long time member
of the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association, and a volunteer member of the FMH
Auxiliary.
He is survived by a daughter, Glynda Kay Fisher of Hagerstown, and two sons Mark
Elwood Crone and wife Janie Christine and Jeffrey Alan Crone both of Frederick.
Two grandchildren, Cara Fisher Kidwiler and husband John W of Keedysville, MD and
Andrew Mills Crone and wife Amber of Purcellville, VA. Five great grandchildren, Casi L Axline-Kidwiler, Olivia E Cammer, Keegan N. KidwiIer, Evan Glenn Crone and Kaden G. Kidwiler. A sister Helen M Wachter of Thurmont, MD and two brothers, Roscoe H. Crone and wife Ethel of Frederick and Leroy E Crone and wife Bonnie of Bunker Hill, WV. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl L Crone and Charles w. Crone and sisters
in law, Ruth C Crone and Dorothy L Crone and brother in law, Philip C'Wachter, and one nephew, Charles E Spangler. Many special nieces and nephews survive him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 28, 2013 from 6-8pm at the Stauffer Funeral Homes P. A., 1621 Opossumtown PIke, Frederick. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am on Thursday August 29, 2013 at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821 Green Valley Road # A, Monrovia, MD 21770 where the family will receive friends also one hour prior to services at church from 10:00am until 11:00am.
Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Monrovia, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Washington County
