Glenn Cox

Glenn Carter Cox, 60, of Mount Airy, was involved in a fatal car accident on October 27 in Monrovia. He was the husband of Jill Cox, and son of Carolyn Cox and the late Thomas C. Cox.

Glenn was employed in facilities maintenance at DSM, a Columbia biotech company. Previously, he was a school bus driver for the FCPS. Being a handyman, he could repair, fix or build just about anything. Glenn enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, playing slots and cruising. Though Glenn was diagnosed with kidney cancer 3 years ago, he fought courageously and was doing miraculously well while being treated with the newly FDA approved 'Opdivo' cancer drug.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-daughters, Jessica and Tess Oby, and nephews Joshua Cox (wife Mary) and Jarrett Cox. He is also survived by great nieces Madison and Macey Cox. Glenn was preceded in death by two brothers, Brian and Roger Cox.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 5 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Boulevard, Mount Airy.  A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 12:00 at the funeral home.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
