Together Again Forever - November 30, 2024! 

Mr. Glenn K. Baker, 93, life-long Frederick resident, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024, StoryPoint Senior Living, Chattanooga, TN. He was the loving husband of Glendaris V. Baker. They were married in 1951 for 70 years with a friendship that blossomed 76 years ago in the Glee Club at age 12.

He lived 90 years in Frederick, MD and moved to Chattanooga, TN in May 2021 to be closer to his daughter and son-in-law. 

Mr. Baker was the son of the late Glenn K. and Mary (Wagner) Baker and was a graduate of Frederick High School, class of 1950. A longtime member of People's Baptist Church, he was the church treasurer and trustee.

He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and served in a combat zone in 1951, Seoul, South Korea. The picture used for the obituary is him returning to the USA in November 1952 and then serving at Langley Air Force Base in VA until January 1955. After the military, he worked at the Pentagon for the Secretary of the Army as a Budget Officer. He was responsible for the Civilian Army Budget that was submitted to Congress. He retired after 40 years of Federal Service in 1996. After retirement, he worked at Frederick Christian Academy as a Greeter and in the Maintenance Department.

Mr. Baker was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda McCorkle and husband, Jeffrey of Chattanooga, TN; a grandson, Andrew McCorkle of Chambersburg, PA; and a sister, Linda Franklin, Kalispell, MT. 

He was predeceased by brothers, James R. Baker and Robert G. Baker.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick with Rev. Dr. Kent Ramler officiating. 

Donations may be made, in his name, to the People's Baptist Church, Memo: Church Remodeling Fund, 6648 Carpenter Road, Frederick, MD 21703.
