Gladys M. {Eckenrode} Harris

Ms. Gladys M. { Eckenrode } Harris, 69, of Frederick, passed away on March 13, 2007 at her home.

Born on December 2, 1937 she was a daughter of the late George and Emma Eckenrode.

Ms. Harris was employed at Frederick Memorial Hospital for sixteen years.

Previously she was employed at the Cambridge Rubber Company, and the Thurmont Shoe Company.

She loved yard sales and putting puzzles together.

Gladys is survived by her five children; a son Buddy Eckenrode of Hampstead, four daughters; Wanda Fike and husband Todd of Myersville, Betty Kaufman and husband Jeff of Ladiesburg, Thelma Jerigan and husband Torie of S. Carolina, Pamela Green of Thurmont. Three sisters; Joann Gibbons and husband Gary of Frederick, Margaret Ullrich of Brunswick Darlene Gibbons and husband Richard of Thurmont,a brother George Eckenrode, Jr, eleven grandchildren; Michael Allen III, David Allen, Ronald Smith, Jr., John Darvis, Francis Geppi III, allen Lake, Robert Jernigan, Kimberly Markoe, Jennifer Mackley, Brandy Green and Paige Darvis. Eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered by all of her neighbors on Bentz St.

She was preceded in death by four brothers;Donald, Harvey, James and Howard Eckenrode.

Visitation: The Family will receive friends at Stauffer funeral Home, 1621 Oposssumtow Pike,Frederick, on Friday, March 16th, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim May officiating. Interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons; Michael Allen III,David Allen, Ronald Smith Jr., Richard Gibbons Jr., Christopher Markoe and a dear friend David Sandy.
