Gina Caputo Cumberland of Frederick, Maryland died on June 25, 2017 due to complications from heart transplant surgery. Gina was born on November 29, 1962 in the Bronx, in New York City. She grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland where she attended Seneca Valley High School and eventually settled in Frederick Maryland where she made her home with her loving husband and enjoyed the best years of her life. Gina was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend to many. She enjoyed a successful career in banking, most recently with PNC Bank, from which she retired in 2014 as a Senior Vice President, Regional Manager.
Gina had an incredible gift to make everyone around her feel special and loved. Her beauty was remarkable, her laughter contagious, her heart generous and her spirit overflowing with love and kindness. To know her is to truly understand what a blessing she was to this earthly place in which we live.
Her love and spirit will live on through her devoted husband Michael Cumberland. Her fortitude and strength will continue in her daughters Candace Desai, Carly Monello, and step daughter Lauren Cumberland. She is also survived by her loving mother Marie Ferrante Caputo, her devoted sisters Connie Caputo Belcher and April Caputo Snyder, her father Mario Albert Caputo, in-laws Steve and Carolyn Cumberland, nephews Nicholas Snyder, Lucas Snyder and Gregory Belcher, and her niece Cristina Belcher, as well as countless aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, for not only their hard work and determination in caring for Gina, but also for the love and kindness they poured out to her and her family during this journey. A celebration of Gina’s life is scheduled for Sunday July 2nd at 2:00 at the Wormans Mill Community Club House 2470 Stoney Creek Road Frederick, MD. 21701.
