Gertrude Bostic

Mrs. Gertrude M. Bostic, 71, of Mt. Airy died on Sunday, November 28, 2010, and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, where she can rest in Him for eternity after a long battle with heart disease.

She was a Charter member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church, where she served faithfully for over 42 years as a Sunday School Teacher and member of the choir.  She was preceded in death by her late husband Chris Sullivan, with whom she was married for 27 years and Robert Bostic, with whom she was married for 5 years.

Born on March 3, 1939 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Larley S. and Anna Howard Bonnette.

Surviving are her four children, Rozzetta Delph and husband David Delph, Carolyn Colson and husband Joe, Patricia Lawson and husband Dean and Chrissie Thompson and husband Marshall Jr. One step son Robert Bostic and wife Jackie. Three step daughters, Larina Bostic, Danielle Bostic and Ryan Hofler and spouse Chad. Also survived by 26 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Douglas Delph, Johnathan Thompson, and Haydon Lawson and one brother Donald Howard.

Visitation will be held from 3-5 & 7-9pm on Thursday December 2, 2010, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Friday December 3, 2010 at the Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 710 North Main Street, Mt. Airy. Dr. Michael L. Trammell will officiate.  Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
