Gerald "Jerry" Hollar

Gerald (Jerry) Hollar, 59 of Mt Airy, MD, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2020 with his wife of 38 years Kathy; his sons, Wes Hollar and Mat Hollar; and daughter-in-law, Rebecca by his side.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Hollar and father, Everett Hollar; sister, Martha Hollar; and brother Ken Hollar.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathy; his two sons, Wes Hollar (Girlfriend Jessica Creasey) of Mt Airy, MD and Mat Hollar (wife Rebecca) of Boonsboro, MD. His brother, Everett Hollar (wife Tami) of Whittier, CA, brother, Steve Hollar of Aliso Veijo, CA, sisters, Janet Colt of Winchester, VA and Rebecca Wallace (husband Bill) of Boise, ID. Nieces and nephews, Margaret Dempsey, Mary Ngo, Keith Hollar, Kevin Hollar, Lee Potter, Brandy Fowler, Nick Colt, Samantha Colt, Christopher Colt, Jonathan Wallace and Sarah Wallace; and many great nieces and nephews (still growing). Jerry loved spending time with his beautiful large family.

Jerry spent 40+ years working as an automotive mechanic at various shops in the area. He would often get calls asking for his expertise.

Jerry and Kathy moved to Mt Airy, MD 30 years ago where they raised their two sons. Jerry was a animal lover and dearly loved all the animals Kathy brought home and rescued currently being their two dogs Wee and Layla and Charlie the cat.

Throughout the years Jerry and Kathy enjoyed many trips throughout the United States on his Harley Davidson with his friends whom he truly loved.

We will all terribly miss this kind, sweet, gentle man. His kindness will continue on after his untimely death with a donation through the Living Legacy Foundation.

A memorial service will be held for Jerry at 11 a.m. on Saturday February 8, 2020 at Stauffer Funeral Home in Mt Airy, MD.
