Geraldine {Jeri} Marie Rice
August 26, 1933 — October 27, 2008
Mrs. Geraldine Jeri Marie Rice, 75, of Walkersville, died on Monday,October 27, 2008 at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehab Center. She was predeceased by her husband of forty-one years, James Alfred Rice.
Mrs. Rice devoted her life to her family and home. Previously she was a member of AMVETS Post # 2 auxiliary.
Born on August 26, 1933 at Montevue Hospital in Frederick, she was the daughter of Charles H. Jones, Jr. and Dorothy McBride Jones. She was the eldest of fifteen siblings; Nancy Ellis, Jane Foland, Kathleen Kramer, Charlotte Tobery, Carol Novak, Gail Summers, Sherree Smith, Vicki Bostian, Harry Charles Jones III, Lonnie Jones, Gary Jones, David Jones, Terrance Jones, Ronnie Jones.
She is survived by her children; Patricia A. Wentzel and husband Adrian of Middletown, Rose Mary Cooper and husband Donald of Augusta WV., Lindy L. Gordon and husband Ralph of Florida, Alden A. Rice and wife Lori of Walkersville and Chad W. Weddle and wife Irene of Walkersville. Grandchildren; Dawn Kelly, Jason Weller,
Heather Rice, Brandon Rice and Jeremy Gordon, great-grandchildren; Alexa Weller, Jadyn Kelly and Adyson Weller. She will also be remembered by her beloved dog Nikki.
Visitation: Family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville on Sunday, November 2nd, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Eugene P. Bartell officiating. Interment in Glade Cemetery.
