Geraldine "Gerry" Simpson
April 28, 1937 — May 14, 2017
Mrs. Geraldine (Gerry) Marie Simpson, 80, of Fairfield, PA passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017. She was the wife of the late Joseph Simpson.
Born April 28, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Mills Kocher.
Geraldine (Gerry) retired as a Secretary from the United States Postal Service and had worked in many different government offices for 38 years. She also, retired second time around from Standard Federal which is now Citigroup as a Processor. She liked going on bus trips with her AARP friends, walking clubs, watched QVC and Texas Walker Ranger, shopping at Pebbles Department Store and reading History books. She also loved talking to her cat Bootsie.
She was preceded in death by her brother Robert J. Kocher.
She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Bish and son-in-law Daniel W. Bish. Also, she had 3 granddaughters, Ashley L. Ward and her fiancée David Newlin, Sherri C. Bish and Kristine A. Bish Fairfield, PA. Also, will be greatly missed by her friend Bobbi Murphy and her cherished cat Bootsie.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 1-2PM where a funeral service will be officiated by Reverend Vernia L. Rollins will begin at 2PM.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
