Geraldine Y. (Davis) Wolford, 84, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg.
Born on September 21, 1929 in Augusta, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur T. and Naomi C. (Peer) Davis. Her husband of 53 years, William D. "Bill" Wolford, preceded her in death in 2002.
Mrs. Wolford was employed as a cook at Manidokan Camp and Retreat Center in Knoxville, Maryland, and was an Avon Lady for 25 years.
Geraldine was a member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren in Brownsville, Maryland, and the Brownsville Ruritan Club.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda S. Oakley of Wyoming, Cathy L. Metz of South Carolina, Lorie A. Cunningham of Boonsboro, Maryland, Michelle R. Little of Martinsburg, West Virginia; one son, Ronald K. Wolford of Capon Bridge, West Virginia; three sisters, Janice Lofton of Allenwood, Pennsylvania, Carolyn Hott of Romney, West Virginia, and Frances Davis of West Virginia; and one brother, James Davis, of Augusta, West Virginia. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Wolford; and a brother, Teddy Davis.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
A graveside funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Malik Cemetery in Augusta, West Virginia. Rev. Ansel Peer will officiate.
