Gerald (Gerry) Frischkorn, 67, of West Friendship, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, April 2, 2022 surrounded by his family.
Born on November 24, 1954, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late David Holland Frischkorn and Regina Catherine (Strobel) Frischkorn.
He was a loving husband to Pamela Frischkorn, his wife of 36 years.
He received a Bachelor of Science, Forest Resource Management, West Virginia University, 1976 and Bachelor of Science, Conservation and Resource Development University of Maryland College Park, 1977.
He retired as a Lieutenant after serving 30 years with the Howard County Police Department and retired as Captain after serving 3 years with the Westminster Police Department. He also retired from the Maryland Lottery after serving 10 years as a Deputy Director of Casino Compliance.
Gerry was a skilled handyman and woodworker who proudly built his own house and loved doing projects around the house. He also enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises and to Disney, riding his motorcycle and small engine repairs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jason and Jocelyn Frischkorn; siblings, Diane (Frischkorn) Janoske and husband, Gary and Steve Frischkorn and wife, Kim; brothers-in-law, Mike Krieger and wife, Peggy, Ken Krieger and wife, Lisa, Bill Krieger and wife, Michelle, Chris Krieger and wife, Alex; sister-in-law, Paula (Krieger) Lewis and husband, Mike. He is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 8 East Ridgeville in Mt. Airy, MD. 21771.
Prayers will be given at 3:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at St. Michael Catholic Church at Poplar Springs, 1125 St. Michael's Road in Mount Airy, MD. Father Michael Ruane will officiate. Interment will be at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville, MD.
Memorial donations may be made to Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation and Gilchrist Center, Howard County.
