Gerald “Purr” Ridenour, 65, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2019. He was the husband of 41 years to Debbie (Hoffman) Ridenour.
Born on July 15, 1954 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Earl C. Ridenour Sr. and Blanche Marie Jones Ridenour. He worked for Maryland State Highway for 30 years until his retirement where he was fondly remembered by his co-workers as “Cowboy”. He was a dedicated American Red Cross blood donor. He was always willing to help a friend and enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Gerald Ridenour Jr. and wife Sara and grandchildren, Jacob and Ethan as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Ridenour Jr.
The family will receive friends from 7-9pm on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Mt. Lena United Methodist Church Cemetery, 21234 Mt. Lena Road, Boonsboro.
