Georgie Edgerton

Mrs. Georgie Marie Edgerton, 87 of Mt. Airy passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at her residence. Born on December 18, 1928 in Washington, DC she was the daughter of the late George and Natalie Germane Mess. She was a Certified Life Underwriter in the insurance industry. A mother of 5, she was suddenly forced to become a single mother; a career women when there were not very many of them. She enjoyed painting in water colors with landscapes her favorite subject. Leather crafting was another hobby. On top of all her accomplishments she was beautiful and an all around nice person. Surviving are five children: Charles E. Edgerton and wife Hyun of Maui, Linda Aikey of Burke, VA, Natalie Edgerton of Hawaii, David Edgerton of Frederick and George Edgerton of Mt. Airy; a grandson, Alex Hernandez Services and interment are private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
