Mrs. Georgia Groover Grunewald, 82, of Frederick passed on Friday, October 24, 2008 at Frederick Memorial hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the loving wife of Theodore C. Grunewald, her husband of 62 years.
Born January 1, 1926 in Savannah Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Gordon L. Groover Jr. and Dorothy Bricker Groover.
She retired in 1975 after working 29 years at C&P Telephone Company. She was a part of the Telephone Pioneers and had served for the AFL-CIO Union before joining the ranks of management.
She left a lasting impression on everyone that she met. She will be missed by her lifelong friend, who was like a sister, Colleen Schuettler.

In addition to her husband she is survived by 5 loving daughters: Pat (Wayne) Merson, Betsy (David) Norris, Angel (George) Boerstler, Avis (Tim) Atchison, Nancy (Ben) Fields; 10 grandchildren: Donna (Steve) Selckmann, Doug (Heather) Merson, Jim (Celeste) Merson, Faith (John) Gribble, Rick (Lauren) Boerstler, Dawn (Gary) Laios, Tim Atchison Jr., Jennifer Fields, Erica (Jared) Nason-Stuart, Nikki Nason; and 17 great- grandchildren; and a a sister Dorothy Schutrumpf.
Mrs. Grunewald was preceded in death by step-mother Lt. Col. Mary Agnes-Brown, brother Gordon Groover, daughter Kathy Nason, and grandson Lane Boerstler.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Monday, October 27, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
Services:
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2008.
Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick
