Georgia W. Clay, 87, of Mt. Airy, MD went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Clay.
Born March 30, 1936 in Boyds, MD, she was the daughter of the late Willis T. and Katherine (Spring) Windsor, and step-father, Josephus L. Reeder.
Georgia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by sons, Joseph Clay (Lynn), and Randy Clay (Donna), and daughter, Deborah Copas (Chris). She has eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Georgia was preceded in death by sister, Marilyn Monard, and brother, David Windsor.
She worked for MCPS for 25 years as a bus operator and bookkeeper for Clay and Monard Corp. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church, Boonsboro, MD.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10 from the funeral home chapel, with the family receiving friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Officiating will be Pastor Ed Wade.
Interment to follow at Montgomery United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Georgia's name to a charity of one's choice.
