George O. Gilliam

Mr. George O. Gilliam, 88 of New Market, MD., died Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Rita Reed Gilliam.
Born March 24, 1920 in Bluefield, W. VA, he was the son of the late Ira and Margaret Suiter Gilliam.
Mr. Gilliam retired as deliveryman for Suburban Propane in Rockville after many years. He loved gardening and landscaping of his home in Broadway, VA.
He is survived by three children, Mary Connelly of New Market, George B. Gilliam of Hagerstown and Steven Gilliam of Pennsylvania. Five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son Thomas Gilliam.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, MD on Tuesday December 30, from 7 - 9 p.m.
Services: Graveside services will be held on Wednesday December 31, at 11:00am at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Rockville,.
