Mr. George H. Dick Angleberger, 83, of Walkersville, well known farmer and dealer in livestock, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2008 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret M. (Stull) Angleberger.
Born on July 19, 1924 in Braddock Heights, he was the son of the late William and Hilda (Whipp) Angleberger.
Mr. Angleberger was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren.
In his earlier years he was a farmer and livestock dealer. After retiring from the livestock business he opened Sunset Supply Hardware store in Libertytown, which he owned and managed for the past 21 years, until his death. Throughout his years in the hardware business he met and made many friends. Beside spending time at his store he enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed sharing life with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His favorite time of year was Christmas surrounded by his family.
Surviving beside his wife are 2 daughters; Ann Hutts and husband Jim of Walkersville, Betty Jane Cline and husband Denny of Frederick, 7 grandchildren; Robbie Cline and wife Tina of New Market, Jenna Linde and husband Seth of Friendswood, TX, Joe Thomas of Cumberland, Tara Cline and Melissa Cline of Frederick, Jamey Hutts and wife Carolyn of Jefferson and Amy Hutts of Frederick,9 great-grandchildren; Austin, Brian, Brayden, Darin, Jandi, Joey, Emily, Cora and Sheel, 1 sister, Peggy Green of Springfield, OH, 5 half-sisters; Pauline Lapole of Jefferson, Helen Fogle of Walkersville, Hilda Harbaugh of Frederick, Catherine Martin of Woodsboro and Margaret Brandenburg of Middletown.
He is also survived by numerous sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and the many friends who came to know him through the store. His jokes and story telling will be sorely missed by many.
He was preceded in death by a son George Angleberger, Jr, 6 half-brothers; Melvin, Albert, Emory, Charles, John and Carl Angleberger and a half-sister Mary O'Brien.
Visitation: Family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Oppossumtown Pike, Frederick, Md., on May 11th, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Mundey and Rev. Dr. Mike Watson officiating. Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons; Robbie Cline, Joe Thomas, Jamey Hutts, son-in-laws; Jim Hutts and Denny Cline and a special friend Jim Slabik.
