George Gus Constantine

February 23, 1926 — July 12, 2007

Mr. George Gus Constantine, 81, recently of Country Meadows Retirement Community,
Frederick and former long time resident of Newtown Square,PA, died on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born on February 23, 1926 in South Bend, IN he was a son of the late Gus and Bessie
(Bouzanis) Constantine. He was a member of St. Luke's Greek Orthodox Church, Broomall, PA. George enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1944 and served as a Gunnery Sergeant at various bases throughout the United States. He was a graduate of the University of Vermont, Class of 1952 earning his degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed with General Electric at the corporate level for 20 years, primarily managing manufacturing plants. He also served as Vice President of Manufacturing for Rockwell International, Grinnell and Merrit, reluctantly he retired in 2001. In his college years he enjoyed skiing, participated in Track and Field and football. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed working on his cars, especially his 63 Corvette.

He also enjoyed landscaping, reading and watching televised sports.

Mr. Constantine is survived by; 1 brother, Nicholas G. Constantine of Frederick,MD,
1 nephew, John Mahares of Ijamsville, MD , 3 nieces; Connie Blekicki of Richmond, VA, Paula Stull of Frederick and Felicia Constantine of New Market, MD. He is also survived by several great- nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Georgia C. Mahares and a great-nephew David Mahares.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike,
Frederick, on Thursday, July 19th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Services: A service of celebration will be held on Friday at 11:00 am. at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 920 W. Seventh St., Frederick, with Rev. Anastasois Kousoulas officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to services. Interment in Brookhill Church Cemetery.
