Mr. George A. Daigneault, 80, of Thurmont, departed to Heaven peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Marilyn Eichwurtzle Daigneault for 43 years.
Born in Jackmon Station, ME, he was the son of the late Rhea (St. Jacques) and Joseph A. Daigneault. After retiring honorably from the United States Marine Corps, George went on to work for Motorola where he served as a FCC liaison for 25 years. A very hardworking individual and great provider for his family, George next started his own business, Daigneault Communications, where he retired after 18 years of leadership.
Completely devoted to his loving wife Marilyn, George will be remembered for his extraordinary gift of laughter, enthusiasm for life and love for his family and friends.
George is survived by his wife Marilyn and together they survived their nine children, Rachelle Daigneault and husband Gary Lockhart of Snow Hill, MD, Michael Daigneault and wife Eileen of Germantown, MD, Beverly Cuhna and husband Ricardo of Silver Spring, MD, Mark Stephenson and wife Terri of Athens, GA, Douglas Stephenson of Westover, MD, Ruth Lantz of Charles Town, WV, Susan Riggs and husband John of Jefferson, MD, Joseph Daigneault and wife Cassandra of Strongsville, OH, and David Daigneault and wife Amandia of Manassas, VA;George was the very proud grandfather of fifteen grandchildren: Kelly, Jacqueline, Peter, Jessica, Jennifer, Daniel, Joel, Katie, Luke, Micah, Noah, Brady, Shawn, Carson and Melissa; and one great grandchild, Sophia.

Services: The family will receive friends for a celebration of his life on Saturday, February 14th, from 1 until 3 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD where services will begin at 3:00 PM. A private burial will take place at the Arlington National Cemetery in April where George will be laid to rest with full military honors.
