Mr. George R. Thomas, Jr., 71, of Brunswick died Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Homewood at Crumland Farms. He was the loving husband of Carol M. Thomas. They were married for 48 years.
Born August 23, 1943 in Shamokin, PA, he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth Thomas.
George had a long career as an electrical engineer. He enjoyed golfing, model airplanes, Civil War history, football and meeting people.
In addition to his wife, George is survived by two sons, George Thomas, III, and wife, Catherine, of Virginia, and their children, Sophie and Cameron; and Jeffrey Thomas and wife, Sara, of Adamstown, and their children, Olivia and Ryan; two sisters, Betsy Smith of Virginia and Kay Kandra of Maryland; and many cousins. .
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where a Celebration of Life service will begin at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
