George Schamel of Boonsboro, MD,
passed peacefully at home on Saturday, May 1, 2010
Born in Hagerstown, MD he was the
son of the late George C. Schamel Jr. and
Bertha Mae Corby of St. James, MD.
He graduated from Williamsport High
School in 1947, Ashland College in
1951, later received his Masters from
Frostburg State College. He taught biology
and chemistry for 30 years at Boonsboro
High School, retiring in 1981.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years,
Eileen Ronk Schamel; one daughter,
Rolinda Schamel Collinson of Friendship,
MD, one son, George C. Schamel II of
Conifer, CO. He is also survived by six
grandchildren.
Services and interment will be held privately
at the convienience. Interment will be held in
Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, MD.
at the families convenience.
