Mr. George Robert (Bob) Sanner IV, 66, of Frederick, passed away on May 30, 2013 after an acute illness at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Diana M. Sanner of Frederick, MD.

Born on June 4, 1946 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late George R. Sanner III and Anna Las Sanner of Homewood, Frederick. He was a faithful member of the St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church serving in any capacity that he could.

He served in the US Navy from 1964-1968 which included two tours of duty during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Enterprise.  He was an avid sporting clays and trap shooting enthusiast and active with Camp Kanawha Gun Club at Point of Rocks.  He retired from Verizon in 2001.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his daughter Leslie Wachter of Frederick, and son, Scott Sanner and wife Sonia of Canberra, Australia.  He is survived by two grandchildren, Jakob Wachter and Noah Sanner that were so special and dear to his heart. He is also survived by two brothers, Theodore Sanner of Orlando, Florida and wife Shelly and John Sanner of Portsmouth, New Hampshire and wife Michele and many nieces and nephews.   His passing leaves much sorrow in the hearts of his family and many, many friends.  He was always willing to help others whenever the need arose.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Monday, June 3 from 2-4 and 6-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 4th at 11:00AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 East Second St., Frederick with Father Keith Boisvert officiating.

Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Rt. 15.
