George Herman Piper

George Herman Piper, 93, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at his residence.

Born on March 20, 1931, in Lovettsville, VA, he was the eleventh child and the last survivor of the twelve children born to the late George Washington Piper and Mary Welby (Baker) Piper.

George was a charismatic dairy farmer, realtor, artist, barber shop tenor, violinist, harmonica player, roller skater, history buff, golfer, hunter, sports enthusiast and Believer.

He was affectionately known as "Hermie" to his siblings. 

He is survived by his children: Bonnie (Larry) Flook of Needmore, PA, Laura DeLauder Haraway of Boonsboro, Robin Crim (Wayne) of Middletown, and George Edward Piper (Felicia) of Georgia; his seven grandchildren: Nathan (Sarah) Flook, Jason Flook, John "Robbie DeLauder, Jerry (Steph) DeLauder, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Balderson, Christopher Crim and Amanda Jo (Claude) Thompson; twelve great grandchildren: Amelia Rose Flook, Lt. Daniel Flook, Renae Hughes, Samantha Jo (Brandon) Warren, Brandon DeLauder, Trevor DeLauder, Lindsay DeLauder, Don Griffith III, Catherine Griffith, Nicholas Case, Brooke Crim, Adilynn Thompson and Gavin Thompson; five great-great grandchildren: Valerie Hughes, Raven Hughes, Coulten Hughes, Gabe Oaks and Freya Oaks. In addition to his parents and eleven siblings Mr. Piper was preceded in death by a son, Justin Keller Piper.

A private service will be held at a later date to celebrate his life.
