George J. Pesto 83, of Mount Airy, MD. passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at his residence.
He was born on March 23, 1931 to the late Mike and Anna (Viegl) Pesto at Birmingham, AL. George worked as a Quality Control Engineer for Westinghouse Electric for 35 years.
Mr. Pesto was a graduate of Auburn University and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus of St. Michael's Church and the American Legion of Sykesville, MD. George also loved the Baltimore Orioles, fishing and gardening.
George is survived by his loving spouse of Ruth R. Pesto, father of Elaine (Victor) Taylor, Suzanne (Bill) Middleton, Michael (Catherine), Keith (Nancy), Brian Pesto; brother of Bill (Camilla) Pesto, Margaret (Lamar) Snead and the late Mike, Frank, Alfred Pesto, Helen Head and Agnes Tate; also survived by 8 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., Mt. Airy, MD.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, 11:00 am with a viewing at 10:30 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church at Poplar Springs, Mount Airy, MD,
Burial will take place in the Lake View Memorial Park.
