George Delbrook

Mr. George Clinton Delbrook, 89, of Walkersville, MD., died Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Stella M. Murray Delbrook his wife of 60+ years.

Born September 9, 1920 in Mt. Savage, MD, he was the son of the late Frank W. and Bertha Witt Delbrook.

Mr. Delbrook was employed with Federal Government for most of his life. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He was a life member of the Walkersville Fire Co., past member of the Corriganville Fire Co., and Woodman of the World in Mt. Savage, MD.

After retiring he enjoyed traveling and woodworking.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Gary L. Delbrook and wife Cindy of Frederick and a daughter Carol Offutt and husband Robert of Knoxville, grandchildren Amy Clower and husband Dwight of Ranson, WV, Jennifer Offutt of Brunswick and Joshua Offutt and fiancé Katie Wastler of Keymar, great grandson Christopher Clapper, two step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother Calvin Delbrook, and sisters Grace and Irma Delbrook, Lena Markwood and Bertha Stahl. He was the last of his immediate family.

The family will receive friends a the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville, Thursday, May 13, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Services will be held Friday, May 14, at 11:00 a.m. from the Bethel Lutheran Church, 9664 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick with Pastor Lehman officiating.

Interment Glade Cemetery.
