George Deal, Sr.

George J. Deal, Sr. age 78 of Mt. Airy, MD passed Wednesday, August 24, 2016 after a long illness. He was born December 8, 1937 in Accident, MD to the late Leslie and Elsie (Bowser) Deal. George was the beloved husband of the late Muriel J. (Shields) Deal; father of George Deal, Jr. of New Market, MD, Carol (Marty) Hall of Frederick, MD, Donna (Ron) Kominsky of Moyock, NC, and Debbie (Beany) Rutledge of Poolesville, MD; grandfather of Chris (Ashley) Kominsky, Sarah (Ricky) Beachly, Lauren Moxley, Bryan and Logan Hall; great-grandfather of Dylan and Skylar Kominsky; brother of the late Irene Rector, Fred and Marvin Deal.

Mr. Deal worked as a crane operator for Whiting & Turner Construction Company for many years and was a member of Operating Engineers Local #37, International Operating Engineers for 53 years. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church in Mt. Airy, where he served as President of the Trustees for 10 years and he was also a member of the choir. George loved hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Boulevard, Mt. Airy, MD on Friday, August 26 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and where funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11 am. Interment Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery.
