George Brown

George W. Brown, 72, of Mt. Airy, MD went home to be with the Lord on September 14, 2017.

A dedicated husband, he leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Judith Brown.  George was a loving father who was very proud of each of the five daughters he also leaves behind, Susan, Christine, Betsy, Jessica, and Jaime.  He is survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

George was a hard working entrepreneur who ran multiple successful businesses and is best known for his work with Total Construction Services where he built or renovated over 100 churches in Maryland.  He was fervent in ministry and dedicated countless hours to his church, various local missions, Good News Jail & Prison Ministry, and recently trained to be a part of the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team.  George was known for always “getting the job done,” though he sometimes used unconventional methods that would generate a smile from those who knew him well.  His leadership, passion, and energy will be missed by his family, friends, and partners in business and ministry.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed biking, hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing.  He also had a great love for gospel music and classic hymns.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 1st at 3:00pm in the Baker Memorial Chapel at McDaniel College.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team and Good News Jail & Prison Ministry.
