Geniva F. (Haupt) Brining, 81, of Mt. Lena, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Born on November 23, 1932, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Guy R. and Clara E. (Faulders) Haupt. Her husband, Dallas E. Brining, preceded her in death in 2004.
Geniva had formerly been employed at the Hotel Alexander in Hagerstown, and The Spot Restaurant in Mt. Lena. She attended the Mt. Zion Mennonite Church in Boonsboro.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa D. Brining of Mt. Lena; and two nieces, Clara Holler and husband Kenny and Debbie Moore and husband Bob, all of Sharpsburg. Maryland. She is also survived by two great nephews and her best friend, Pauline Moser of Hagerstown.
In addition to her parent and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Nelson Haupt; one sister, Violet Hutzell; and one nephew, Robert Hutzell.
A graveside ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery at San Mar, 20544 Benevola Church Road in Boonsboro. Rev. Roger I. Martin will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
