Genevieve E. (Brandenburg) Talbert

Genevieve E. (Brandenburg) Talbert, 86, of Boonsboro, died on July 18, 2009 at the Fahrney Keedy Home and Village in Boonsboro.

Born on May 17, 1923, in Harmony, Md. she was the daughter of the late Charles and Pearl (Hooper) Brandenburg.

Mrs. Talbert retired from the Fahrney Keedy Home and Village after 31 years of service.  She was a member of the Harmony Church of the Brethren in Myersville.

She and her husband, Erle Preston Talbert, were married on December 7, 1940.  He preceded her in death in 1998.

She is survived by six sons, Ronald L. Talbert and his wife Beverly, Robert E. Talbert and his wife Connie, and Dennis C. Talbert and his wife Karen, all of Boonsboro; Edward E. Talbert and his wife Mary, of Hagerstown; Carroll L. Talbert and his wife Sherry of Berkeley Springs, WV; Allen R. Talbert and his wife Susan of Keedysville; and one brother, Rudolph Brandenburg of Middletown, Md.  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Talbert was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly A. Haupt and two brothers Kenneth and Jack Brandenburg.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.  Rev.  F. Allan Weatherholt, Jr. will officiate.  Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Boonsboro, Md.

Friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Monday, July 20, 2009, beginning at 1 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m.
