Gary Thomas Moore

Mr. Gary Thomas Moore, 37, of Upperville, VA died on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Cornwall Hospital, Leesburg, VA.

Born on August 23, 1970, in Leesburg he was the son of John B. and Shirley M. Smallwood Moore, Sr. of Upperville, VA. He worked at Ft. Detrick as an animal caretaker. Gary enjoyed music, dancing, collecting DVD's, all sports especially basketball and football; but most of all was truly a happy go lucky guy and loved making other people happy.

Surviving in addition to his parents are a daughter, Taylor Nicole Moore of Upperville; 2 grandmothers: Sarah K. Moore of Loudoun County and Agnes B. Smallwood of Petersville, 3 brothers and sisters: Timothy A. Moore, Sr. of Frederick, Denise L. Smith-Henry and Jonas Dorsey of Petersville and John B. Moore, Jr and Linda Watts of Frederick; 4 nieces and nephews: Marcus D. Smith and wife Jackie, Kendra M. Smith, Timothy A. Moore, Jr. and Alyssa A. Smith-Henry; 4 aunts and uncles: Charles T. Smallwood, Sr., Shirley J. Casson, Linda L. Fisher and Joseph M. Smallwood; as well as a host of great aunts, great uncles and cousins.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by 2 grandfathers: Charles Smallwood, Sr. and John A. Moore; one aunt, Ann C. Weedon and a sister-in-law, Rochelle Moore.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, June 5 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Avenue, Brunswick.

Services: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 6, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 4231 Catholic Church Rd., Petersville with Rev. Mr. L.P. Teixeira officiating.

Interment will take place in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a fund for his daughter C/O BB&T Bank in Purcellville.
