Mr. Gary W. Valentine, 67, of Carroll Valley, PA passed away on May 2, 2015. He was the loving husband of Kaye A. Metheny-Valentine.
Born August 7, 1947 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of J. Richard Valentine and Dorothy (Harbaugh) Valentine.
Gary was in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he was an aircraft electronic navigational equipment repairman for the F-4C, C-130, T-33, HH-43 and T-39 aircraft. He was a man of many talents. He was an instrument rated license pilot and flight instructor. He flew for the Department of Agriculture and was a corporate pilot for REM equipment. He was an assistant golf course superintendent. He held a master electrician, plumbing, and septic installers license for years. He was an excellent heavy equipment operator and in his later years was self-employed. Currently he has worked at Carroll Valley Golf course for over 10 years.
He loved flying and playing golf.
The family wishes to thank Robin and Bonnie for everything they've done.
In addition to his wife and parents, Gary is survived by step-children, Kristina Yingling and Adam May; brother, Dennis and significant other Cindy; niece, Christy; and two great-nephews, Christian and William.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Tom's Creek United Methodist Church, 10926 Simmons Rd, Emmitsburg, MD 21727.
Inurnment will be private.
