Gary Stick

Gary Stick, 63, of Frederick, passed from this life on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore after a battle with glioblastoma as well as renal cell carcinoma.  He was the husband of Kathy L. Stick.  Born on May 10, 1954, in Lebanon, PA, he was the son of Claude and Naomi Stick.

Mr. Stick was a graduate of Cedar Crest High School in Lebanon, PA, Class of 1972 and Penn State University, class of 1976.  Gary was a sales executive at Tyco Integrated Security in Catonsville.  He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family, and especially loved being a "Pop-Pop" to his grandchildren as well as going to Dunkin Donuts on the weekends.  As a final gesture to help others, Gary enrolled in The Legacy Gift Program through Johns Hopkins University Hospital, and was a Legacy of Life donor.

In addition to his wife Kathy, he is survived by four children: Jason Stick and wife Sherry of Eldersburg, Lisa Balighian and husband Eric of Ellicott City, Alex Stick and his wife Amanda of Frederick and Julie Bishop and husband Wes of Charles Town, WV as well as six grandchildren: Brady Balighian, Molly Stick, Bennett Balighian, Dylan Stick, Charlotte Balighian and Maci Bishop.  He was expecting the birth of his seventh grandchild, Landon Bishop later this month.  He was one of six boys, who all survive him: Richard Stick and wife Trudy of Lebanon, PA, Dennis Stick and wife Susan of Irvine, CA, Terry Stick and wife Dee of West Chester, PA, Kevin Stick and wife Alicia of Campbelltown, PA and Brian Stick and wife Dana of Camp Hill, PA.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and many close friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 4 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.  An open mic time for sharing memories of Gary will begin at 7:30 PM.
