Gary Garland

Mr. Gary, M. Garland, 64, of Woodbine, MD passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Penny Garland for 42 years.

Born May 27, 1947 in Bethesda, MD he was the son of the late Robert P. and June Myers Garland.

Gary proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as a steam fitter. Mr. Garland was an active member of the VFW. Gary enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, music and cooking. He loved spending time at the beach and looked forward to going to the Chicken Shack. Mr. Garland was a great father and enjoyed spending time with his sons.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons Charles Randolph Garland and wife Jessica of Sykesville, Daniel Carress Garland and wife Logan of Frederick and William Andrew Garland of Frederick; grandchildren Maxwell, William and Jack; sisters Allison Wagner and Jeannine Hook and husband Tom; brother Robert Garland and wife Dorothy and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother Charles Randolph Garland.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 11AM at St. Michael Poplar Springs Catholic Church, 1125 St. Michael’s Rd., Mt. Airy, MD where the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
