Gary Crutchfield

Mr. Gary Dale Crutchfield, 67, of Mt. Airy died on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Deborah Turton Crutchfield, his wife of 25 years.

Born on July 2, 1948 in Wytheville, VA, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary Margaret Thomas Crutchfield. Gary worked in the landscaping industry his entire life. In 1996 he founded and expanded Lawn Aide Plus, Inc. He truly loved his work and received many certifications including Certified Applicator, ISA Arborist and Horticulturist.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Stacie Crutchfield Doffmeyer and husband Brian of Mt. Airy, three grandchildren: Tyler and Kylee Kelly and Paige Doffmeyer; a brother, Phillip Crutchfield and wife Gyla of Berkeley Springs, WV; a sister-in-law Vivian Crutchfield of Westminster; a devoted cousin, Rita Thomas; also his wife's family: her parents, Michael and Barbara Turton of Charles Town, WV and siblings: Diane Putman and husband Kenny of Keedysville, Michael Turton and wife Bridget of Ft. Worth, TX and Carolyn Haushalter and husband Jeff of Atlanta, GA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Crutchfield was preceded in death by a son, Jay Crutchfield and a brother, David Crutchfield.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Friday, May 6, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 7 at Pine Grove Chapel, South Main St. Mt. Airy with Rev. Tim May officiating.

Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
