Garnett Wisner

Garnett L. Wisner, 82, of Walkersville, MD died peacefully at Frederick Memorial Hospital on Thursday, November 24, 2016. He was born February 14, 1934 in Frederick, MD to Gladys Mullinix and H. Lewis Wisner, Jr. Beloved husband of Joan Martin Wisner; father of Karen L. (Paul) Green and the late Ronald W. Wisner; grandfather of Grant (Fiancee Julia Lopez) Green; brother of Ella (Donald) Lenhart, Fern (Ted) Mercer; Kenneth (Shirley), Marshall (Janet), Fred, Meredith (Nancy), Wayne, Sr., and Glenn Wisner; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers for Garnett's funeral are Scott Beadle, Steve Touzell, David Sweeney, Joe Crum, Dwight Repp and Tony Bowens.

Garnett was a well known dairy farmer of Frederick County, was a 1953 graduate of Walkersville High School and his hobbies included farming and discussing current government affairs. He was a member and past director of Capitol Milk Producers; past director and volunteer of Hospice of Frederick County; past director of Southern States; member of Frederick County and Maryland State Farm Bureau; member of Holstein Friesian Association; member of Maryland Upland Game Commission; member of Glade Valley Grange. Garnett was awarded the 2002 Farm Family of the Year. Garnett will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville, MD on Monday, November 28from 5-8 pm. funeral service at Union Chapel Lutheran Church, 11109 Daysville Road, Frederick, MD on Tuesday, November 29, 2106 at 11 am. Interment at Union Chapel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
