Garnet O. Beswick, 80, of Middletown, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born on July 28, 1934, in Jamaica, he was the son of the late Garnet and Sylvia (Smith) Beswick.
Garnet worked for many years as a mechanical designer and took great pride in designing parts for the military.
He loved to be with his family and friends. He also enjoyed taking fishing trips to Costa Rica.
Garnet is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Shirley Anderson-Beswick; his three daughters, Terry Beswick of Germantown, Maryland, Jeannine Dillard of Gaithersburg, Maryland, and Rachel Wood, of New York; his son, Brant Beswick, who is proudly serving his country in the United States Navy and stationed in Japan; his four adopted children, Tony of Virginia, Eleanor of Urbana, Maryland, Suzanne of West Virginia, and Richard of Virginia; and his sister, Nadine Krantz of Albany, New York. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Jamie, Austin, Aniah, Natalie, and Taylor.
A memorial service in memory of Garnet will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at the Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland 21702. Final resting-place ceremonies will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
