Gail Elizabeth Wirick
February 1, 1944 — May 30, 2009
Mrs. Gail Elizabeth Wirick, 65, of Germantown died on Saturday May 30 after a short illness.
Born on February 1, 1944 in Chicago, ILL.
She retired in June of 2008 as Director of the Administrative / Fiscal Division in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy at the Pentagon. She is a survivor of the 911 attack on the Pentagon, her office being directly above the point of the planes impact. She had previously worked at the Guantanamo Naval Base in Cuba.
Mrs. Wirick was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Germantown, serving as Financial Secretary. With her great sense of humor she was a bright spot in the lives of her many friends.
Surviving is a son Kenneth Furneaux, Two grandchildren, Cheyenne and Dakota Furneaux. A sister Linda Matuska and brother Vaughn Schoon.
