Gail Zickafoose

Mrs. Gail L. Zickafoose 59, of Hagerstown, MD., passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010.

She was the wife of David C. Zickafoose her husband of 26 years.

Born January 19, 1951 in Baltimore, MD., she was the daughter of Agnes Peacock Miller of Baltimore, MD and the late George E. Miller.

Mrs. Zickafoose was a member of the Frederick First Church of the Nazarene, serving on the church board, was director of the Sunday school and played the piano for services. She was a past member of the Marley Park Church of the Nazarene serving on the church board and the finance committee. She served on the Dr. Benjamin Carson Scholarship Fund. Gail started in banking in 1971 as a teller and upon retirement was vice president in commercial lending. She was the first recipient of the TWIN Award. She enjoyed gardening and travel.

In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by her sons Marty Wood and wife Cathi of Delmar, MD and Mark Wood of Hagerstown, three grandchildren Emily Wood, Joshua Wood and Hannah Wood, a sister Marian Wentker and husband Wayne of Westminster, mother-in-law, Geraldine Parsons of Chrisfield, MD and a brother-in-law Wayne Zickafoose and wife Susie of Chrisfield, MD. She will be remembered by her friends Tricia Schneider and Dot Worrel and her numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Tuesday, November 23 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-9:00PM.

Services will be held at the Frederick Church of the Nazarene, 7899 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, November 24 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Rob Merki officiating.

There will be visiting one hour prior to service.

Interment will be in Glen Haven Cemetery, Glen Burnie, MD.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick Church of the Nazarene, 7899 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
