Frehiwot "Marra" Olsson, 2, died Saturday, May 18, 2013. She was the daughter of Sten and Amy Olsson of Frederick.
She was born November 22, 2010 in Assela, Ethiopia.
Frehiwot joined her family in January 2012 when they adopted her from Ethiopia. The story of her journey to the Olsson family has touched the lives of countless people. She was a light to all who knew her. Marra Freh loved her brothers and sisters and enjoyed playing, singing, laughing and being silly. Dora was her favorite character.
In addition to her parents she is survived by siblings: Ben 17, Abe 13, Eli 11, Jenna 8 and Miheret 7 (still currently in Ethiopia, waiting to join the Olsson family in a few months). Grandparents: Karen and Lars Olsson of Mt. Jewett, PA and David and Ann Kearney of Kane, PA. She has numerous aunts, uncles and cousins as well.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossomtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 1-3PM and 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 23 at 11 AM at Mountain View Community Church, 8330 Fingerboard Rd Frederick, MD 21704. Pastors Tim Nester and Ronald Reeves will lead services. Lunch will follow the church service at the Urbana Fire Co.
A private interment will follow lunch at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
