Mr. Frederic Allan Schwartz, 87, former longtime resident of Edgewood, MD, died peacefully at his son's home in Frederick, MD with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Harriet Jane Schwartz for 62 years.
Born February 18, 1930 in Windom, MN, he was the son of the late William Arthur Schwartz and Ethel Frances (Anderson) Schwartz.
He completed his schooling in Windom, where he was Valedictorian of his high school graduating class. He began his college career first attending Towson State Teachers College (now University) in Maryland and later Mankato State Teachers College in Minnesota. Mr. Schwartz received his MS degree from Penn State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Schwartz was a mathematics teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools in Maryland for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed photography, amateur radio, personal computing and crossword puzzles. With his wife, he traveled extensively in the United States. He was a longtime member of Presbury United Methodist Church in Edgewood.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Alan W. Schwartz and wife, Susan K. Schwartz, of Frederick, MD; grandchildren, Adam G. Schwartz and wife, Sarah Murphy, of Marshall, NC, and Alison B. Duclos and husband, Nicholas Duclos, of Frederick, MD; great-grandchild, Desmond Clay Schwartz of Marshall, NC; and a brother, Winton J. Schwartz of Windom, MN.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick, MD on January 20th at 11am.
