Frederic Martinez

Frederic G. Martinez (Fred), 62, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 19, 2023. Born on February 17, 1961 in Stuttgart, Germany, he was the son of the late Jose D. and Betty J. (Weddle) Martinez.

Fred grew up in Emmitsburg, MD, and although he lived much of his adult life in other places, he returned to the area a few years ago. He graduated from Catoctin High School in 1979 and then enlisted in the United States Army.  Following his service, he began his career as a Certified Surgical Assistant, specializing in orthopedics and plastic surgery.  

Fred enjoyed golfing, staying active and spending time with his family. 

Fred is survived by his siblings, Larry (Patti) Martinez of Woodsboro, MD and Laura (Dean) Knott of Rocky Ridge, MD; children Tonya (Oliver) Abraham of Tampa, FL and Amanda Barr of Indiana; nieces and nephews Ben (Dara) Martinez, Hanna Martinez, Kayla (Bobby) Youngblood and Kyle Knott; grandchildren Justin, Shane, and Logan Abraham; and great-niece Beatrice Youngblood. 

As per Fred’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
