Fred Charles Gould

Fred Charles Gould, 88, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Karen Lee Hukkala.

 Born on May 22, 1936, in Joliet, IL, he was the son of the late Charles Theodore and Stella Mae (Tremelling) Gould.

 Fred attended Joliet Township High School; as a sophomore received the Robert M. Adam award; initiated into the National Honor Society; Grade School and High School bands and orchestras, the Harwood Post No. 5 American Legion Band, and the Joliet Symphony Orchestra. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, Illinois in January 1959 and his Master of Business Administration degree, from the University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois in June 1967. Fred proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for 10 years and was honorably discharged April 29, 1969.

 In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, William Charles Gould (Ann), Susan Mae Gould Stuart and James Fred Gould (Sylvia); sisters Carolyn Jane Gould Cornwall (Gerald) and Janice Rose Gould Piggush (Kenneth); cherished grandsons, Peter James Stuart (Melanie), Dillon James Gould and Joshua Charles Gould; granddaughters Heather Mae Stuart, Delaney Christiane Gould, Cassidy Anelisa Gould, Sandra Johanna Gould, Sarah Karen Gould and Jenna Noëlle Gould; great granddaughter Allison Lynn Stuart; nephews David Gerald Cornwall, Ronald Wayne Cornwall and Brian Kenneth Piggush; grandnephews Matthew David Cornwall, Shawn Michael Cornwall and Ryan Christopher Cornwall.

 He was preceded in death by his first-born son Daniel John Gould and niece, Sharon Lynn López Comesaña.

 The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD where a celebration of Fred's life journey will take place at 3pm. Rev. Shannon Sullivan will officiate. Interment will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Estates at a later date in Lemont, IL.
