Franklin Eugene Dixon, Jr.

Franklin Eugene Dixon, Jr. 61 of Ijamsville, MD formerly of Brunswick passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at his home.

Born August 25, 1947 in Frederick he was the son of the late Franklin Eugene Dixon, Sr. and Mary Virginia Hahn Dixon.

He loved baseball and he loved to go dancing. He played Brunswick Little League, Babe Ruth League and he played softball as an adult. He was also an umpire at Pine Cliff Park and he was an avid New York Yankees fan.

He was a member of the Brunswick Eagles. He was currently employed with Wal-Mart in Frederick and previously employed with Lee's Gas in Frederick.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Valerie Vickers of Ijamsville, a son, Franklin Eugene Dixon III and wife Esther Marie Baker of Brunswick, a daughter, Candi Dixon and husband Ray Gibson of Lovettsville, VA a grandson, Franklin Eugene IV, a sister Laurie and three brothers, Thomas, Richard and Raymond. He will also be remembered by his nieces, nephews and all of his special friends.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Dixon.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at he Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick on Friday, July 10 from 4:00-8:00 PM.

Services: Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, July 11 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Thomas Fralin officiating.
Interment will be in Lovettsville Union Cemetery, Lovettsville, VA.
