Franklin Wolfe

Mr. Franklin E. Wolfe, 91, of Smithsburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 1 at Julia Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown.  He was the husband of Elizabeth Wolfe.  Born on January 22, 1926, he was the son of the late Franklin Ellsworth and Esther Viola Smith Wolfe.

Mr. Wolfe was, until the age of 85, an avid softball player.  He was a past member of the Elks Club in Hagerstown and enjoyed playing cards on trips to Charles Town.  Frank had a gift of connecting with people; his hard work ethic along with his ability to relate to customers and understand their needs made him very successful in automotive sales. He retired in January of 1995 after 40 years in the industry, having worked for Antietam Motors and Hoffman Chevrolet.  After his retirement, he was able to enjoy 22 years of relaxation.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Dennis Wolfe and wife Linda and Daryl Wolfe, grandchildren Kelli and Daniel and Erin and Matthew and a great grandson Owen Langdon.  He took great pride in his family and cherished the moments they shared together.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 5 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, Februrary 6 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and at the family's suggestion, memorial contributions are strongly suggested to a charity of one's choice.
