Franklin Shriner

April 10, 1945 — November 4, 2016

Mr. Franklin Lee Shriner, 71, of Thurmont, died Friday, November 4, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Alice Shriner for nearly 53 years.

Born April 10, 1945 at his family's home in Thurmont, he was the son of the late Maurice Edwin and Ellen Mae (Reifsnider) Shriner.

Frank worked for many years as a materials handler at Moore's Business Forms. He was a lifetime member of Guardian Hose Co. #10, a member of Thurmont Community Ambulance Co. #30, and Amvets Post #7.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Brian Lee Shriner of Thurmont; daughters, Alisa Mae Moxley and husband Scott of Thurmont, Tammy Wynette Manahan and fiancé Dave Plaza of Thurmont, and Loretta Lynn Morris and husband Greg of Emmitsburg; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sherry Bushman and Gale Shockey, both of Thurmont; brother, Donald Shriner and wife Cindy of Frederick; sister-in-law, Ruthie Shriner of Rouzerville, PA; a great-aunt, Dot Reifsnider of Walla Walla, WA; special friend, Kathi Armitage and Richard Manahan Sr. and wife Patricia; and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, Ronald, Robert, Frederick and Wayne Shriner; two grandsons, Adam Manahan and John Bushman Jr.; grandmother, Viola Reifsnider; and great aunt, Lillian Smith.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 11.

Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Flowers are welcome but donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
