Born October 13, 1919 in Thurmont, MD., he was the son of the late Howard E. and Effie Ellen Sturdevent Danner.
Mr. Danner worked 30 years for the Kelly Pie Company. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a part of the D-Day Invasion on Normany Beach and was a recipient of a bronze star medal. Franklin was a life member of the American Legion Post #168. He was an avid piano player and was a member of many local bands in the 1930’s and 40’s. Mr. Danner enjoyed spending time with his great granddaughters Kaitlyn and Ashley.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his grandchildren Katherine Christine “Christy” Fuss and husband David and Robert W. Fogle, Jr. all of Walkersville, his great granddaughters Kaitlyn Ann Fuss and Ashley Marie Fuss of Frederick, his daughter-in-law Susie A. Fogle of Walkersville and friend Charlie Warner of Keymar, his brother James Danner and wife Doris of Thurmont, a sister Lucille Bradley of Madison, Wisconsin and brother-in-law Charles Blumenauer of Bedford, Va. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by a step-son Robert W. Fogle, Sr. and a brother Edwin Danner of Baltimore.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville, on Sunday, March 13, from 5 – 8 p.m., where a memorial service will be held Monday, March 14, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Lloyd Fuss officiating.
Interment will be private
Memorial contributions made be made to the American Legion Post #168 in Thurmont, MD or to the Community Foundation of Frederick County, Ag-C.I.T.E. Fund.
