Frank P. "Frankie" Lapole, 87, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Born on February 13, 1927, in Zittlestown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Luther M. and Vallie V. (Shoemaker) Lapole.
Frankie was a veteran of the World War II having served in the United States Army.
Most of his life he was as a Dairy Farmer, and he also had worked in construction.
Frankie was a member of the Clopper-Michael American Legion Post 10 in Boonsboro.
He is survived his wife, Genevie "Genny" A. (Renner) Lapole; one daughter, Nancy L. Notestine and her husband Larry, of Boonsboro; and one grandson, Aaron A. Hastings, also of Boonsboro. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Having been preceded in death by his loving and faithful canine companions, Snoopy and Pokey, Frankie will be deeply missed by his dog JoJo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Reese.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro; where a funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Boonsboro Cemetery with military honors rendered by the Clopper-Michael American Legion Post 10.
