Mr. Frank Emil Sofinowski, 75, of Walkersville, died Monday, August 26, 2013 from injuries sustained in a vehicular accident. He was the loving husband of Barbara Ann Sofinowski. They celebrated their 50th anniversary this past January.
Born July 6, 1938 in Dundalk, he was the son of Ruth Eva Sofinowski of Westminster and the late Jacob Sofinowski, Jr.
Frank was a Navy Veteran and was formerly employed as an Electronic Maintenance Supervisor with East Coast Communications Relay at Ft. Detrick
He and his wife moved to Walkersville in December of 1963, and he was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He loved helping his friends and family, and this was a strong aspect of his life. Frank was noted for his outstanding sense of humor.
Frank loved riding his scooter and he died doing what he loved.
In addition to wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter, Lora Sink and husband, Stephen; son, Frank R. Sofinowski, and wife, Jennifer; three brothers, Jacob Sofinowski, and wife, Joan; Alan Sofinowski, and Charles Sofinowski; four sisters, Ruth Copenhaver, Pat Pennington, and husband, Don; Diane Thomas and Linda Sofinowski; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville, where funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 31. officiating will be Pastor Mark L. Foucart.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Union Bridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 19 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Walkersville, MD 21793.
