Frank Guthrie, Sr.

Mr. Frank L. Guthrie, Sr.,71 , of Boonsboro, MD passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Diane Guthrie for 46 years.
Born May 29, 1945 in Washington, D.C. he was the son of the late George and Catherine Jackson Guthrie.
Frank was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a participant and past Commander of the Boonsboro American Legion, Post #10 and also the past county Commander. His hobbies included fishing, boating and hunting. Frank retired from Washington Gas in Rockville, MD after 37 years of service.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Frank L. Guthrie, Jr. and wife Nan of Greencastle, PA and Karen L. Thorne and husband Billy of Waynesboro, PA; three granddaughters Kylee and Haven Thorne and Abigail Guthrie and one step-grandson, Brent Thorne; brother Robert Guthrie of Annapolis, MD.
The family will receive friends at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, on Sunday February 26, 2017 from 6-8PM where a funeral service will be held on Monday, February 27 at 11AM. Rev. Tim May will officiate.
Interment will follow at Boonsboro Cemetery.
